Every passenger on the returned flight to Ilulissat expected to depart again the next day. However, Greenland seems almost impossible to reach. The flight the next day is full (I sort of understand; it has only 37 seats and using a bigger aircraft is not possible because the runway in Ilulissat cannot accommodate larger planes.)

So, we were stuck in Iceland for another 40 hours—OMG!

We were supposed to reach Greenland on Day 1 (the same day as our departure from the Netherlands), but we were now booked on a flight from Keflavik to Ilulissat on Day 4! 😱

One takeaway is obvious: plan for plenty of margins if you wish to visit this remote country. 🇬🇱

We didn`t want to sit in the hotel room, thus rented a car and spent the day in Reykjavik. It was sunny but cold. 🥶

I thought my record for the longest flight delay was last year in the Faroe Islands, when we returned home 3 days later than scheduled. Now, it seems we may have broken another (unwanted) record.
