This tour combines wild nature and vibrant local life with the magic of the Arctic sky. An unforgettable way to welcome the darker season.

You’ll hear it before you see it – a deep exhale of Arctic breath as a humpback breaks the surface, golden mist catching the evening sun.
This is whale watching in East Greenland: raw, quiet, unforgettable. 🐋
Summer here isn’t about schedules – it’s about surprise.
And fun fact: Some humpbacks travel over 5,000 kilometres to feed in these icy waters yearly.

Coolcations are trending — and Iceland is leading the charge. ❄️
With tour operators reporting up to 50% increases in bookings to northern Europe this summer, demand for offbeat, cooler destinations is soaring. Iceland continues to top the charts, and thanks to new air links via Copenhagen, even Greenland is becoming more accessible than ever.
We’ve been on the lookout for a trusted, experienced DMC in both destinations, and we’re pleased to recommend Arctic Yeti ( arcticyeti ): A flexible, reliable local tour supplier with over 15 years of expertise, offering authentic adventures while keeping your clients in safe hands.

July 15 – day 4 of adventure.canada `s Iceland to Greenland In the wake of the Vikings
After lunch, we board zodiacs to sail to a beach and a wet landing. We walk across a creek, change into hiking boots and walk up to an old fox trap that may be as much as 400-800 years old. It’s an ingenious piece of equipment to trap foxes alive and because of the absence of good farmland, probably Thule rather than Norse.
I then walk up the hill, en route photographing pretty mosses and flowers. From the top, the view is absolutely stunning with a bay studded with small icebergs and bergie bits, the odd zodiac floating through and people enjoying themselves. And all the while, the glaciated mountains and rugged peaks of black basalt in the background. What an absolutely stunning view. I sit down for a while to take it all in.
After descending, back at the fox trap, I get to talking to Aka an Inuit woman. I ask her what it means to be standing right next to a centuries-old fox trap that one of her ancestors built. And we get to talking about pride of place, connecting with your ancestors, and being grounded in the land and I wonder, even though I’m a proud Canadian, why that feels different for us. Is it because when we speak of being a proud Canadian, we talk about institutions and society at large, rather than about being rooted in the land, or being close to our neighbours and our ancestors?. Is it because we keep ourselves so busy we don’t take note of the history around us? Is it because we move around so much we never take root?
