Where should we have the morning coffee? ☕️
I love sleeping in the cabin with the morning coffee to the view of icebergs in the bay. Sometimes we even have humpbacks just in front of the windows.
We sailed to the cabin to cook a fresh fish, played some games and then just went to sleep. The morning was easy going with a cup of coffee in bed, the second and third on the go… and then, I was ready for another day with tourists 🙏🏽✊🏽

Småt, men godt – og så lige midt i Nuuk
Vi havde sat næsen op efter fire nætter i Nuuk. Nye oplevelser, frisk luft og måske en rensdyrburger eller to. Og hvor bor vi?
På Hotel Hans Egedes Express – et hotel, der lever fuldstændigt op til ordsproget “småt, men godt.”
Ikke noget poleret med marmortrapper, krystal-lysekroner eller en lobby så stor som en sportshal.
Nej nej – her er alt, hvad man behøver, og intet, man ikke vidste, man kunne undvære.
Hotellet ligger midt på hovedgaden, så man er aldrig langt fra noget. Faktisk er det så centralt, at hvis man går ud af døren, så er man både tæt på butikker, havet – og kirkegården lige på den modsatte side af gaden.
Værelset er ikke stort, men udsigten er god.
Hotel Hans Egedes Ekspres er ikke bare et sted at sove.
Det er en base. En kommandocentral. En varm rede midt i det ellers kolde Grønland.
Småt? Ja.

Ein weiterer aufregender Tag in Grönland. Diese Farben, insbesondere die Blautöne haben es mir wirklich angetan. Dieses Zusammenspiel zwischen Wasser, Eis und zerklüftetem Fels ist so großartig 🧡 dieses Naturschauspiel macht was mit mir. Die Ruhe, die die Umgebung ausstrahlt, hat sich aus mich übertragen. Die Inuit sind so herzliche Menschen. Jeder lächelt, grüßt, ist sehr hilfsbereit und vermittelt das Gefühl, man sei ein Teil von allem. “Eventyret på Nuup Kangerlua i Grønland ”
I går besluttede vi, at livet skulle være lidt vildere end normalt… så vi gik ombord på en lejet båd og stævnede ud fra Nuuk på Nuup Kangerlua – eller som turisterne kalder fjorden: “Wow, er det her virkeligt?” Fjorden ud for Nuuk viste sig fra sin mest dramatiske side: kæmpe fjeldvægge, spejlblankt vand, og isbjerge i alle størrelser.
Vi sejlede slalom mellem mindre isbjerge og isflager før vi kunne begynde vi at fiske med krog på 90-100 meters dybde. Det er simpelthen for nemt at fiske på denne måde…all you can eat fik en helt ny betydning. 9 torsk på kort tid. Bum!
Der var øjeblikke, hvor naturen var så storslået og stille, at man automatisk begyndte at tale langsommere og dybere, som om man var fortæller i en National Geographic dokumentar:
“…og her ser vi mennesket i sin naturlige forvirring, mens han forsøger at få fisken fri af krogen.”
Alt i alt: Grønland leverede sin signaturpakke – rå natur, “kæmpe” torsk, isbjerge med attitude og røde kinder med garanti.
Endnu en Grønlandsoplevelse vi aldrig glemmer.
Og som vi meget gerne gentager…en dag.

I live in the Arctic
I haven’t shared anything from my hunting for a long long time, because some people become incredibly angry and hateful about it. But yesterday was International Inuit Day (Pilluartitsi!) and inuit have deep roots and culture in hunting — sustainable hunting that supports survival in the Arctic.
Our land is pure rock and ice. We cannot grow crops, we have no farmland, and we do not have domesticated farm animals. That’s why we hunt — to live, to honour our traditions, and to protect our future.
Wouldn’t you rather eat an animal that has lived freely and hunted fairly – than one that hasn’t even seen the light of day before? 🫢
